Schools of Shame
- Stories shared by those who were subjected to cultural genocide by governments past. (Added November 20, 2008)
Often good things were said about clergy. "Many of the students I talked to spoke very fondly about many of the priests". Those children were the lucky ones beyond that many of the stories were haunting, horrific, and heart-breaking because as children "They didn't stand a chance".

Canada's Residential School System
The Canadian residential school system operated during the 19th and 20th century by churches of various denominations and were funded under the Indian Act by Indian and Northern Affairs Canada.

Indian boarding schools were established in the United States during the late 19th century. Children were forbidden to speak their native languages, taught Christianity instead of their native religions and forced to abandon their Indian identity.
